A 15-year-old Tocoi Creek High School student was arrested Monday after allegedly threatening to attack his school, authorities said.

How the Threat Unfolded

🔹 The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) launched an investigation after receiving a FortifyFL App tip about a Snapchat post stating:
“I’m going to shoot up Tocoi High School tomorrow.”
🔹 Deputies assessed the teen as “high risk” after reviewing his background, past behavior, and home environment.
🔹 He was arrested and charged with a felony for making written or electronic threats of violence.

Sheriff Hardwick: ‘We Will Find You’

Sheriff Robert Hardwick emphasized that all threats are taken seriously:

“This arrest and previous arrests should send a clear message; any and all threats will be investigated immediately, we will find you, and you will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Superintendent’s Warning

Following recent school killings in Georgia, Superintendent Tim Forson urged parents to stay alert. He warned of a surge in threats and false reports, which:
✅ Drain law enforcement resources
✅ Increase community vulnerability

“We need your help to ensure that what is being reported is of actual and immediate concern… When false reports are made, we will investigate the source of the threat and pursue charges as appropriate.”

Authorities are urging parents to monitor their children’s online activity and report credible threats immediately.
