A woman is in critical condition after nearly drowning in the ocean near the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club on Sunday.

A lifeguard pulled the woman from the water and performed lifesaving measures before she was taken to a local hospital. Her name has not been released.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m.

Separate Incident at Mickler’s Beach

In a separate incident, a 20-year-old man went missing after getting caught in a riptide at Mickler’s Beach on Sunday afternoon.

Rescue teams from multiple agencies are searching for the man, who St. Johns County Fire Rescue described as Hispanic. His name has not been released.
