Season 28 of “The Bachelor” recently kicked off, but there’s already one contestant who appears to be ruffling some feathers: Sydney Gordon.
Syndey, 28, is one of 32 women competing for the affection of tennis pro Joey Graziadei in the latest season of ABC’s hit reality TV show. From her first interaction with Joey in week one, she attempted to connect by mentioning that she is from the same state as the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
It may be too early to tell, but if her involvement in Maria and Medina’s fight is any indication, she may be establishing herself as this season’s villain — or at least a drama-inducing factor.
Here’s what you should know about Sydney.
She’s a vintage store owner based in Newport, Rhode Island
Sydney was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and raised in Dartmouth.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Syndey attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in emerging media and social media marketing and a minor in photography.
She’s since traveled all over the world, including Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Greece and Australia.
Now, Sydney owns and operates a vintage store called Folk Vintage Co. She established the business in November 2021 in Newport, Rhode Island, per her LinkedIn profile. She describes herself as having “an old soul” in the bio on her shop’s website.
In addition to her vintage business, Sydney also founded Syd Gord Studio in 2020. The social media agency offers clients social media management, content creation, videography, and other services.
Syndey already has a ‘Bachelor’ universe connection that pre-dates her appearance on the show
Ashley Iaconetti, who has appeared on several “Bachelor” franchise shows, wore a rainbow crochet dress from Sydney’s Folk Vintage Co. during her appearance on season eight of Bachelor in Paradise in 2020.
It could simply be a coincidence that Iaconetti’s husband, Jared Haibon, is from Rhode Island. It is unclear whether Sydney personally knew or interacted with the couple when Iaconetti received the dress.
