Former President Donald Trump has denied buying a Glock handgun during a campaign stop in South Carolina, citing a social media video expressing interest in the firearm. Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, faces indictment in four criminal cases.
Federal law prohibits those under indictment from buying guns, but a Texas judge ruled the statute unconstitutional in September 2022. Trump faces 91 felony counts across the four cases and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
What is a Glock handgun/ pistol?
Glock Ges.m.b.H., established in 1980 by Austrian engineer Gaston Glock, is a company that creates and manufactures handguns, also known as Glock pistols. Known for their polymer-framed construction, these handguns gained popularity due to their simplicity, safety features, and ease of use, even when wearing gloves or clothing. Despite legal disputes, such as a design patent lawsuit with H&K, Glock settled with H&K after agreeing to pay royalties for every pistol sold.
Since 1982, Glock handguns have become a popular choice for law enforcement agencies and civilians in the United States. Their reputation for reliability, durability, and ease of use has contributed to their widespread adoption, making them a prominent choice in the world of firearms.
