V Pizza, a popular pizza chain on the First Coast, shocked customers last week with a big announcement. The owners revealed they are changing their pizza recipe to fix a common complaint—soggy slices.
“By almost all accounts, we have been very successful,” they shared in an honest Facebook post. “But for the past 11 years, there has been one issue that keeps coming up.”
That issue? Soft, floppy crusts.
“Their cocktails are amazing, but the pizza is always soggy,” the post summarized customer feedback. “Those are the best wings I have ever had, but the pizza is just OK.”
Instead of ignoring the criticism, V Pizza decided to take action.
They ran a test at one location, asking customers if they preferred the original soft crust or a firmer one.
After two weeks and more than 1,400 orders, the results were clear—9 out of 10 people wanted a firmer crust.
The owners were surprised by how strong the response was.
“I see this as a huge positive!” they wrote. “Our great customer service, delicious food, and amazing cocktails have brought us this far. But what could happen if we give people the crust they really want?”
Over the next few months, V Pizza will introduce the new, crispier crust. They know some longtime fans might not like the change, but they have one request:
Give the new pies a chance.
