Tigard, Oregon – A Tesla dealership in Oregon was hit by gunfire early Thursday morning, marking the second shooting at the location in a week. Police say the attack is part of ongoing protests and vandalism across the country after CEO Elon Musk took on a key role in the Trump administration.

According to the Tigard Police Department, more than a dozen shots were fired around 4:15 a.m. at the Tesla showroom in the Portland suburb of Tigard. The gunfire damaged several cars and shattered showroom windows, but no injuries were reported.

A similar shooting took place at the same dealership on March 6. Police are working with federal agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), to investigate. ATF agents have used an explosive detection dog to search for shell casings at both crime scenes.

Tesla has been a target of protests and vandalism this year, both in the U.S. and abroad. Many demonstrations have been against Musk’s new government agency, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which has been pushing to reduce the size of the federal government.

Last weekend, six Tesla Cybertrucks at a dealership in Lynnwood, Washington, were spray-painted with swastikas and insults aimed at Musk, according to KING-TV. On Sunday, four Cybertrucks were destroyed in a fire in Seattle, though investigators have not confirmed if the blaze was intentional. Federal agencies are helping local police with the investigation.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he is buying a Tesla to show his support for Musk, as the electric car company faces declining sales and a drop in stock prices.
