A Publix in St. Johns County reopened Monday afternoon after authorities investigated a bomb threat and found no real danger.

The store, located at 220 Front Street in Sawgrass Village, was evacuated Monday morning as a precaution. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.

Officials had warned people to stay away from the area due to a heavy police presence.

Photos from the sheriff’s office showed the front of the store taped off while officers checked for any threats. After determining the area was safe, Publix resumed normal operations.
