A brand-new Topgolf location has opened just 15 miles south of San Francisco in Burlingame, offering a state-of-the-art golfing and entertainment experience. The venue, located at 258 Anza Blvd. near the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), is one of the largest Topgolf facilities ever built.
This impressive new addition spans over 71,000 square feet and features 108 hitting bays spread across three stories. With breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay, the East Bay, and planes taking off and landing at SFO, the venue is as much about the atmosphere as it is about golf. On clear days, visitors can even enjoy distant views of downtown San Francisco.
A Massive Project Years in the Making
The journey to bring Topgolf to Burlingame started over eight years ago. The 13-acre parcel of land was previously home to the Burlingame Golf Center driving range. After putting the land up for bids in 2016, the city selected Topgolf as the new operator in 2017. However, lease negotiations stretched on for years, delaying the project.
In late 2022, Burlingame and Topgolf finalized a deal, with Topgolf agreeing to pay at least $1.5 million per year in rent. The lease could extend for up to 40 years, ensuring this venue remains a key attraction for decades. Construction began in April 2023 and was completed last month, with the venue officially opening its doors on December 13, 2024.

The Burlingame Topgolf is designed to cater to visitors of all ages and skill levels. Like other Topgolf locations, it includes a full-service restaurant and bar, private event spaces, and hundreds of television screens. Its prime location off Highway 101 makes it easily accessible for drivers, with two entry points from Anza Boulevard and Airport Boulevard.
While this venue is one of Topgolf’s largest, it’s still slightly smaller than the brand’s flagship location in Las Vegas. However, its unique position with stunning bay views and proximity to SFO gives it a one-of-a-kind appeal.
A Second Bay Area Location
The Burlingame Topgolf is the second venue in the Bay Area. The first is located in San Jose along Highway 237. Together, these venues bring Topgolf’s signature blend of entertainment, food, and golf to residents and visitors across the region.
