A nearly 3-acre site in Nocatee is being developed for a new commercial strip and a large storage warehouse. The location is across the street from Splash Water Park.
Details of the Project
The commercial strip will have six storefronts facing Crosswater Parkway. These buildings will be available for lease and can reach up to 30 feet high, according to plans filed with the St. Johns County Building Department.
Behind the storefronts, a 123,000-square-foot storage facility will be built, with a maximum height of 60 feet. The project will also include 64 parking spaces.
Changes to the Original Plan
The original proposal included 11,875 square feet of commercial space and an 89,000-square-foot storage warehouse. However, in August, Blackstone Engineering, representing the owner SONOC Company, LLC, requested changes. They proposed reducing the commercial space to 9,773 square feet and expanding the storage warehouse to 123,200 square feet. St. Johns County approved these updates.
Location and Surroundings
The development, named Adventure Trail, is located between the Starling Assisted Living facility and St. Johns County Fire Rescue Station No. 18. Construction has already begun, clearing the way for this new addition to the community.
