A Neptune Beach teen was arrested Tuesday after allegedly waving a machete and intimidating pro-Kamala Harris voters outside a local polling station.

Caleb Williams, 18, was part of a group supporting former President Donald Trump when they got into a heated exchange with backers of Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz.

According to police, Williams brandished the machete while confronting two women, ages 71 and 54, who were vocal about their support for the Democratic ticket.

Williams was charged with aggravated assault and improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon. At his Wednesday arraignment, the judge set bail at $55,006, requiring him to wear an ankle monitor if released. He was also barred from going within 1,000 feet of a polling station unless voting himself.

Neptune Beach Police Chief Michael Key Jr. said Williams’ actions crossed a legal line.

“Saying your piece is your First Amendment right, but that goes out the window the second that you raise a machete,” Key said in a Tuesday night press conference.

Police released an image of Williams at the Beaches Branch Library, where he was seen grinning while holding the blade.

While Williams was the only one charged, police say the investigation is ongoing.
