Nease High School Mourns the Loss of 11th Grade Student

A Nease High School 11th grader has passed away.

Administrators at Nease High School informed parents Tuesday of the heartbreaking passing of an 11th grade student.

In an email, school officials expressed their deepest sympathy to the student’s family and asked for the support of the school community during this difficult time.

  • The cause of death and the student’s identity were not disclosed.
  • Classes will continue as scheduled to maintain a sense of normalcy.
  • Counselors will be available for students in need of support.

The tragedy follows the recent drowning of a 15-year-old in Ponte Vedra Beach, who was pulled into a riptide Saturday at Jacksonville Beach. Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
