The body of a 20-year-old man was found Monday after he went missing in a riptide at Mickler’s Beach on Sunday, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Witnesses saw the man struggling in the water and tried to rescue him, but they were unable to reach him. Rescue officials described him as Hispanic.
Emergency crews later found his body in the Mickler’s Landing area.
Authorities have not yet released his identity.
