Margaritaville’s Beachwalk development could soon offer Airbnb-style cottages, allowing guests to stay for up to three months if county officials approve the plan.
Proposal Expands Hotel Capacity
Developers have requested permission to increase hotel rooms from 150 to 200 in exchange for reducing 7,900 square feet of commercial space. The Jimmy Buffett-inspired resort would own and manage the cottages, ensuring they don’t become private residences or timeshares.
The Planning and Zoning Agency and the Board of County Commissioners must sign off before the changes move forward.
What to Expect from the Cottages
- Full kitchens for extended stays
- Hotel-managed services, including trash pickup, cleaning, and mail delivery
- Traffic-calming measures for pedestrian safety
Margaritaville remains on schedule to begin hotel construction next year.
