Jacksonville has been named one of the top 10 cities for retirement by US News & World Report, ranking #7 ahead of well-known places like San Francisco, Charleston, and Tampa.

The magazine praised Jacksonville for its variety of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options across the city. It also highlighted the area’s outdoor activities, including hiking trails and kayaking spots, as well as its growing arts and music scene. This cultural growth has helped boost business development and improve the city’s overall quality of life.

Jacksonville earned an overall score of 6.8 out of 10 in the rankings. It received a 7.1 for home affordability but a lower 4.8 for healthcare.

The publication noted that more people are moving to Jacksonville from other states, bringing new energy and investment to the city.

At the top of the list was Naples, Florida, with a score of 7.0, followed by Virginia Beach and New York City. Other cities in the top 10 included Sarasota, Boise, and Raleigh.
