Jacksonville Airport Adds Direct Flights to New Haven, Connecticut

Jacksonville International Airport is growing fast, and now it’s adding another direct flight. Starting in February, Avelo Airlines will offer flights to New Haven, Connecticut, twice a week.

New Haven is home to Yale University, and this new route is expected to help both business and tourism in Northeast Florida.

“The addition of new flights and airlines helps drive long-term economic growth,” said Tony Cugno, Chief Operating Officer of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, according to News4Jax. “It can bring new businesses to town and support our strong tourism industry.”

This is just one of several new direct flights coming to Jacksonville. In May, Air Canada will start flights to Toronto, and Delta will begin flights to Austin, Texas. Allegiant Airlines will also add direct flights to Akron-Canton (Ohio), Des Moines (Iowa), and Grand Rapids (Michigan).

With these new routes, Jacksonville International Airport continues to expand its reach and offer more travel options for passengers.
