Former President Donald Trump declared on Sunday that there was “zero chance!” that Hamas would have attacked Israel under his watch.
The Republican front-runner for president in 2024, who has been indicted four times, also took the lead in bragging about the infiltration.
“THE HORRIBLE ATTACK ON ISRAEL, LIKE THE ATTACK ON UKRAINE, WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED IF I WERE PRESIDENT – ZERO CHANCE!” he posted on Truth Social in all caps.
The surprise incursion of Hamas fighters into Gaza, which has killed over 700 Israelis and apparently captured scores, forced Israel to declare war and react. According to the UN, the counterattack in Gaza has killed over 400 Palestinians and displaced over 100,000.
Trump has previously portrayed himself as the wise statesman in stressful situations.
The former president stated that if he were in charge, he could stop the war in Ukraine in 24 hours, but he has yet to provide specifics.
Trump also reshared an article written by his former adviser Sebastian Gorka titled “Biden V. Trump War V. Peace.”
At a speech in Iowa on Saturday, Trump accused Vice President Joe Biden of showing weakness, which encouraged opponents.
