Former Tennessee Volunteer and NFL player Will Bartholomew is bringing his D1 Training franchise to Ponte Vedra, opening a 3,700-square-foot facility at 10860 US Highway 1 North in November.
From Career-Ending Injury to Fitness Empire
Bartholomew, a former offensive lineman who protected Peyton Manning during his college days, suffered a non-contact injury during Denver Broncos training camp. The setback led him to rethink traditional gym training, eventually launching D1 Training in 2001.
“What began as training kids in a field evolved into training facilities all over the country, producing some of the best athletes in the world,” his company states.
Elite Training for Athletes and Fitness Enthusiasts
The new Ponte Vedra location is owned by Jessica Hayes of Jacksonville Beach, a lifelong fitness enthusiast and former educator. D1 Training caters to both serious athletes aiming for college or professional careers and weekend warriors looking to improve their skills.
Endorsed by Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning, and LaDainian Tomlinson, D1 Training has over 100 locations nationwide and has helped develop 1,000 collegiate and 3,000 professional athletes.
A Jacksonville location already operates at 11744 Beach Blvd.
