BJ’s Wholesale Club is getting ready to open its doors in Beachwalk.

The popular warehouse store is making final preparations for its highly anticipated launch, which is expected to happen before Christmas.

A store representative said their membership center, which opened months ago, has been signing up customers quickly.

The 104,000-square-foot store will offer fresh produce, a bakery, electronics, household items, and home goods.

Shoppers can also fuel up their cars at the store’s 14 gas pumps. The location will include an auto repair shop and a liquor store nearby.

BJ’s Wholesale Club operates more than 240 locations nationwide. The Beachwalk store will be Florida’s 41st.

The company was founded in Massachusetts in 1984. Its name comes from Beverly Jean Welch, the daughter of the club’s first president. The first physical store opened in Springfield in 1981, and the brand has grown quickly ever since.
