Jacksonville International Airport is expanding again, adding a new direct flight to New Haven, Connecticut, starting in February.
Avelo Airlines will offer flights to the city, home to Yale University, twice a week.
“This is important because new flights and airlines help grow the local economy. They bring in businesses and support the tourism industry in Northeast Florida,” said Tony Cugno, Chief Operating Officer of the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, according to News4Jax.
This is just one of several new direct flights coming to Jacksonville.
In May, Air Canada will begin direct flights to Toronto, and Delta will start flying to Austin, Texas. Allegiant Airlines will also add routes to Akron-Canton, Ohio; Des Moines, Iowa; and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
