Ponte Vedra Beach Resident and Trump Campaign Chief Susie Wiles in the Spotlight Again

Ponte Vedra Beach resident Susie Wiles serves as Trump's campaign manager.

Veteran political strategist Susie Wiles, a longtime Ponte Vedra Beach resident, helped guide Donald Trump back to the White House on Tuesday night.

During his early morning victory speech at Mar-a-Lago, Trump praised Wiles and called her to the stage, but she declined to speak.

“Susie likes to stay in the background,” Trump told the crowd. “She’s not in the background.”

Wiles is the daughter of NFL legend and announcer Pat Summerall, who lived in Ponte Vedra Beach for many years.

She made a name for herself in Jacksonville politics, working for Mayors John Peyton and John Delaney before managing Rick Scott’s successful 2010 campaign for governor.

Wiles later played a key role in Trump’s shocking 2016 victory and helped Ron DeSantis win the Florida governor’s race in 2018.

Now, she’s back in the spotlight as one of Florida’s top Republican strategists.
