Authorities have arrested Caylen Deller, 30, in connection with the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Chad Mullen, 52. Mullen, a father of two, was found buried last month on a farm in Federal Point.

Deller, the main suspect, was taken into custody in Volusia County on Friday and charged with first-degree murder. Police had been searching for her after she missed a scheduled appointment. Officers spotted her driving on I-95 and followed her until her car got a flat tire, which led to her arrest.

On Thursday, police also arrested Tina Marie Lee-Ellis, 56, of Satsuma. She was charged with being an accessory to murder after allegedly helping Deller dispose of Mullen’s body.

Mullen was reported missing on September 15. His phone was last active on September 9 near Deller’s horse farm, Stormy Stables. Police later found his body and named Deller as a suspect.

In an interview, Deller denied any involvement in Mullen’s death. However, her ex-boyfriend, Ken Wadell, who shares a 5-year-old daughter with her, told reporters that she confessed to shooting Mullen twice, claiming he had abused the child. Wadell said he didn’t believe her story and claimed Deller admitted to using a horse and straps to move Mullen’s body.

Mullen’s mother told reporters that her son had a rocky relationship with Deller and was afraid of her after their breakup.

If convicted, Deller could face the death penalty.
